You are invited to come to Dumfries from the 11th to 14th August, 2005 and discover the Borderland - the South of Scotland and the North of England. A beautiful land of mountains, rivers and lochs, with coastal villages, bustling market towns, and peaceful farmland.
This area of the country has been missed by so many tourists, rushing north on the motorway or across to the ferry at Stranraer for Ireland. Those who stop are enchanted - the real Scotland without the long journey to the Highlands - golf courses galore from championship level to small, friendly courses, all with beautiful settings by the sea, lochs, or with stunning views over the hills. The quiet country roads are to be driven along at a leisurely pace, and cyclists are specially catered for with marked routes and cycle paths.
Modern day clans, at peace with each other, and ready to welcome guests, will be at the Gathering Day. You may book each day and event seperately, but the 4 day package gives you the complete experience with all transport provided.
