The Boatshare Company was founded by three retired police officers all with a deep love of the canals and who want to bring the pleasure of owning a narrowboat within the reach of as many people as possible.When the partners retired they sold the company to Sean Currass, the Fleet manager.
Having been introduced to Narrowboating by the boatshare company with shares in both Dragonfly and Meridian, I was inspired to start my own boat building firm , Currass & Sons Boatbuilders .I was then given the opportunity in 2005 to buy The Boatshare Company, from the original partners.
As boat builder, engineer and waterway enthusiast with our own maintenance and support services, we don't need to sub-contract and you don't need to pay a middleman. Our share prices are extremely competitive and our maintenance and management fees are around a third less than other leading companies - an important consideration from your second year of ownership. We provide a professional and friendly service at all times where your needs and enjoyment are always our primary concerns.
