For this reason, the company chose the term blusche (pronounced blŭsche), a Middle English word means to glow, gleam or glimpse, to be its brand name. This word is also a product of a eureka moment when the husband-and-wife team Nelson and Monica Flores saw a store in Niagara Falls, Ontario named "Plusche." They changed the letter P to B and viola, Blusche was born Sept 2007.
Monica decided to make her own mineral makeup as a result of frustration from the lack of makeup shades apt for Asian skin like hers. For research, she bought instructional cosmetic books and samples from various makeup companies. After a couple of months of research and testing, she came up with the base formula for her products.
When Blusche released its first batch of free samples, the Nelson couple faced the challenges of satisfying fastidious customers and learned to use both positive and negative feedbacks in reconcoting their base formula.
