Description
Bethany Lutheran Theological Seminary (BLTS) is owned and operated by the Evangelical Lutheran Synod. The ELS numbers about 22,000 souls representing about 140 congregations in 18 states as well as foreign missions in Peru, Chile, Ukraine, and Czech Republic.
The purpose of the seminary is to prepare qualified men to serve in the public ministry of our Lord Jesus Christ. The seminary in all of its teachings stands firmly on the Holy Scriptures and the Lutheran Confessions.
BLTS offers a four year course of study: three years of classroom study followed by one year of practical study at a parish (called a vicarage). The seminary curriculum is divided into four central areas:
