The Bloomfield Group is an Australian owned group of private companies which operates in the Hunter Valley, New South Wales. The Group has interests in mining and engineering. It operates two open cut coal mines: Bloomfield at East Maitland and Rix’s Creek at Singleton. Mining began at Four Mile Creek, East Maitland, in 1937 when coal was mined by underground methods and continued until 1964 when small areas were open cut mined (now known as Bloomfield Colleries).
