HISTORY
The development of abrasive blast manipulators started in the early 1980's at Tampella, a large Finnish engineering company. Tampella's Tammec-business section designed and constructed the first manipulator, which was installed the Tampella workshop in 1982 .
As Rautaruukki decided to concentrate in its core business, steel, Blastman Robotics Ltd was founded in 1997 to continue the development and marketing of the robots. Now the range of services also included entire abrasive blast and surface treatment lines .
