The period between 7-8 century is of great importance to medieval Bulgaria. Khan Asparuh was the first to defeat the Byzantines and to rule a united Bulgaria in 681. It was the most stable “barbarian” political structure in the European southeast and was based on the pact between Bulgarians and slavanians about a mutual confederation. In the end of the 7th century an another Bulgaria appeared on the map in Macedonia- the one of the Kubert’s Bulgarians.
