- BitBank Software was founded in 1993 by Larry Bank. Our first product was a personal document management system called Image Edition. Around 1997 we began tinkering with the new handheld devices running WindowsCE as well as coin-op game emulation. Coin-op game emulation was not commercialized until some time In 1999 when we formed a partnership with HanaHo Games. With their experience and connections in the game industry, we created commercial arcade game emulators for the Windows Desktop PC and Pocket PC platforms. Although our main focus today is emulation of coin-op and console video games, we still create custom software for a wide range of uses. Because of the nature of handheld devices, portability, efficient code and performance tuning have been an important part of our development philosophy from the beginning. We've helped companies solve code performance problems with our optimization experience (utilizing both C and assembly language as needed). All of our current products are written in C and are designed from the ground up to be portable across all of the Windows platforms as well as non-Windows operating systems.
