About the Biological Terrorism Response Manual - Bio Terrorism
Description
Paul has been a practicing emergency physician for the past 20 years. He is board-certified in both Emergency Medicine and Pediatric Emergency Medicine. During that time, he has pursued varied interests in many fields, ranging from intraosseous infusion to acupuncture, from hyperbaric medicine to the history of medicine. Publications in a number of peer-reviewed journals have been the end-result of these pursuits.
However, for more than 15 years, Paul has had an intense devotion to the theory and practice of Disaster Medicine. He founded the OH-1 DMAT in 1985 and established it with the National Disaster Medical System. Through the years, the Toledo-area Disaster Medical Assistance Team (TADMAT) has assisted the victims of Hurricane Andrew, Hurricane Marilyn, and the Mid-West Floods. It has deployed to special events such as the Atlanta Olympics and the NATO Celebration and pre-staged for Hurricane Floyd.
Service in disasters was not sufficient for Paul and with two TADMAT members, Kelly Burkholder-Allen and Churton Budd, founded the TADMAT Center for Disaster Education and Research. Through this entity, disaster management research was developed and published and an educational curriculum was originated that has been promulgated throughout the region, across the nation, and overseas.
