The Big Rock Park District is a separate local governing agency established for the purpose of providing parks, facilities and recreational programs. The Park District is responsible for the maintenance, operation, and administration of parks, park facilities, and recreational programming under it’s jurisdiction and is governed by five elected Commissioners who set policy for the operation of the Park District while receiving no monetary compensation.
