Bidtective is an open marketplace where customers comparison shop for local services and request bids from local professionals, and where local businesses advertise their services and find work. Our goal is to bring transparency to the market for local services so that consumers can find out what these services really cost, and so that businesses who treat their customers well and provide a solid product at a fair price can rise to the top.
Bidtective is launching in Austin, Texas and hopes to eventually bring its services to the rest of Texas and the United States. Bidtective's first market is Austin, Texas. The site provides features for both consumers and businesses. Rather than targeting just one industry, Bidtective aims to provide one-stop shopping for any locally-provided services. We are starting with Wedding Photograpy and will expand from there as time and resources permit.
Features for Consumers
Bidtective allows consumers to get instant estimates for local services based on our research, data from past projects bid on Bidtective, and results from the Bidtective Pricing Survey.
Consumers can also see ratings for local businesses. Unlike many rating sites that accept ratings from anonymous sources, Bidtective ratings are all based on work that was bid through Bidtective, which reduces the possibility for fake reviews.
When consumers are ready to buy, Bidtective allows them to request bids from local service professionals. Buyers can provide their specifications, timeline, budget and supporting documentation. Buyers can then have Bidtective request bids from all, or just selected, local businesses that offer the requested service. Interested businesses respond online with a binding or non-binding bid, and customers can then send their contact information to those bidders they like best in order to follow up and discuss their job in person. Until the customer chooses to do so, Bidtective does not share consumers' contact information with businesses, so this way they don't have to worry about being inundated with phone calls or receiving unwanted emails.
