You may have questions about my background and qualifications. So, at the risk of boring you, I will fill you in. I first became interested in working in broadcast back in my high school years, in the late 50's. Like so many people I work with today people told me I had a nice voice and I should be in radio. I had done a few plays in high school and liked the idea of "show biz" and entertainment. I came to Chicago from Michigan in 1959 with hopes of finding my way into radio. As luck would have it I landed a job as a "gofer" at NBC. This led to a sound engineering trainee job in a recording studio that specialized in recordings for radio, TV and educational training films. I ultimately became Vice President and General Manager there. Then ten years later in 1970 I formed my own recording company, Studio One.
In 1979 as an added facet of my work in the recording field, I started to do private coaching for people who wanted to learn more about how to use their voices professionally. In the early 80's I began my own voice career. I have talked to you on the air about such products as Head & Shoulders, Sears, Kraft and others.
It is curious to me how I ended up in my little corner of the entertainment business. I would have thought I would have landed in live TV or theater or, at least, a radio talk show, which is something I would still like to do someday.
