Hi! Welcome to Bev's World. Some 35 years ago my sister-in-law taught me how to pipe a border, a rose and a little party elephant. She hooked me onto cake decorating! What a joy ride it has been! What fun! To be able to create and decorate special birthday cakes for my family; cakes, cookies and sugar favors for each holiday celebration; holiday and birthday treats for school parties.....oh! the memories that we've cherished. And the "make a memory" continues today as every birthday and every family get-together has a theme carried through from the invitations, decorations, table centerpieces, favors and food to the dessert and coffee or hot chocolate spoons.
Unfortunately, in the beginning, the closest supplier for the decorating items I needed was a 150 mile round trip to the Wilton showroom. Fortunately for me, however, a relationship was established and before I knew it, I was demonstrating and teaching the first pilot Wilton cake decorating programs in department stores. Some of the input was mine, too! To this very day the slotted coupler is still in production. A few years later, Bev's World became a reality; not just a dream. A special place where a cake decorator could get lost and find pastry bags, decorating tubes, cake toppers and HELP, if needed. Soon it was into candy making. My Mother made heavenly, luscious, tantalizing candy temptations. Now I could share her recipes and also get into chocolate covered candies, too. I can remember Bev's World first chocolate order...30 pounds!!!
Bev's World has grown. My store, located in Waukegan, Illinois, is filled from ceiling to floor with cake pans, cookie cutters, chocolate molds, wedding cake ornaments, ruffle boards, chocolates, specialty baking and candy making ingredients, cake boards, cake and candy boxes, separator plates, pillars, cake stands, fountains, baking accessories, food colors and luster dusts, gumpaste supplies, books and so much more. I stock the store from many of the world's foremost suppliers including Bakery Craft, Cake Craft Food Colors, CK Products, Lorann Oils, Merckens chocolates, Nestle chocolates and caramel, Wilton and more.
