The year was 1776 and a new country is born. Born of the blood and faith of a people yearning to be free. This was a challenging time; a time that successfully tested an individual's values, courage and belief in a higher being, one that would help Americans prevail against the tieriny of those seeking to oppress.
"Go west" was the saying in a new country full of idealism and energy. It was the vast American frontier where a religious movement was born ----- born of a desire for Christian unity and a strong belief in Christ and his teachings. This was the simple beginning of a new faith a new church, the Christian Church.
Believers are accepted into discipleship by confession of faith in Christ Jesus and obedience in baptism. Transfer of membership to the congregation is accepted by those who have been baptized by immersion.
