Description
The first Billy McHale's was founded in 1980 in South Seattle, Washington, USA. It's recipe of serving great Americana food, combined with quick service, in a fun, family-friendly atomsphere proved very successful. Over 14 years Billy McHale's has expanded to open seven more restaurants. The Bellingham Billy McHale's opening took place in 1992 and Robert Knopp experienced this as part of the initial kitchen staff. Five years later, Robert advanced to hold the position of lead cook, and Kristy was hired as a hostess. Within two years, the two had begun dating. A year later Robert decided to expand his culinary experiences and left Billy McHale's. The romance continued and in 2000, Robert and Kristy would marry, buy a house and start a family. By 2003, Kristy was the manager of the Bellingham Billy McHale's, when the opportunity presented itself to purchase this Bellingham restaurant. Owning and operating a restaurant had always been part of their master plan so they seized this opportunity. In 2004, Robert and Kristy Knopp realized this dream and have successfully continued the Billy McHale's tradition of delivering great food in a fun family-friendly atomsphere.
