Description

The Bell’Arte Singers is one of Canada’s finest community choirs. Founded in February 1988 by Dr. Lee Willingham and a group of enthusiastic colleagues, a Board of Directors was formed of community members, educators, musicians and business people, singers were auditioned and the services of one of Canada's pre-imminent organists, Ian Sadler was secured.

An overwhelming audience demand has led to a yearly three concert subscription series as well as several guest performances with many notable ensembles including; the North York Symphony, Oshawa Symphony, Brassroots, Huntsville Festival, Scarborough Philharmonic, Elmer Isler Singers, Aradia Baroque Ensemble, Trinity Chamber Ensemble, the Hannaford Street Silver Band, and the Talisker Players.

The choir has established itself in all genres of repertoire and styles through concerts, recordings, broadcasts and participates in special benefit concerts for charity and church outreach organizations. The choir has been featured as part of the Toronto Star Christmas Children's Fund concerts.
