The BGC was put together as an entity in 1999 by a group of guys who had formerly been running what was commonly known as the "Sunday Golf League". The Sunday league was kicked off by a couple of mad keen golfers in 1995, which could see the potential in putting together a Sunday competition that brought the golfers of Beijing together as a group.
