Four Wynds is situated at Longbyre near to the town of Haltwhistle which is geographically the "Centre of Britain". It makes an ideal base for exploring Britain from the East to the West.
We are one and a half miles from Hadrian's Wall (World Heritage Site) Forts, Milecastles, Settlements, Audio-video displays at Birdoswald all within cycling distance of the house. We are also only 500 yards from The Pennine Way (the Alston Greenhead Bellingham section of the National Long Distance Walk)
Some 35-40 miles to the West is the Northumbrian coastline with it's historic castles, Bamburgh, Dunstanburgh (right) and it's world famous bird sanctuary on the Farne Islands, not to mention the Famous "Craster Kippers" - a nice day out in the car.
