Teenagers and intelligent adults interested in Beaminster would enjoy reading this series of books about a Beaminster schoolgirl. Her name is RACHAEL and the first book is "Rachael and the Golden Chain", the second is "Rachael and the Mystery of Truth", and the third is due out in Spring 2007. They are illustrated with many line drawings. This girl gets involved in various adventures, some terrifying, and from time to time she slips into an alternative world of dreams which comment on her progress through these ordeals. Barney the black labrador and her Uncle Melvyn and a mysterious young doctor are her chief supports.
