Bedales is a leading co-educational independent school founded by John Badley to provide a creative and innovative approach to education. The school is located in Steep near Petersfield in Hampshire and comprises of three schools; Dunannie for children aged three to eight, Dunhurst for kids aged between eight and thirteen and Bedales which is the secondary school for those aged 13-18.
Bedales was founded by J H Badley in 1893 and was designed to be profoundly different compared with other schools. The independent school aims to educate the whole person including the 'head, hand and heart'.
There are three schools:
Students can either attend on a daily basis or be boarders. There are a range of activities which students are able to participate in as well Outdoor Work which focuses on transforming the Bedales environment.
