BDAT - the Beat Dance Alliance of Teachers | Tap Dance Alliance | The Beat Tap Syllabus

Description

BDAT is an association of teachers that focuses mainly on Tap Dance. Teachers who join this association will be provided with an instructional aid unlike any on the market today. This instruction aid is the first tap syllabus to put extensive knowledge of injuries and injury treatment/prevention into your, the teacher's hands.

BDAT was founded and developed by World Tap Dance Champion, 'Darin Kyle'. Mr. Kyle is the first man in Canada to become World Tap Dance Champion (Riesa, Germany - December 2001) and in the pages of the the Beat syllabus you will find his in depth knowledge of the art form. Working jointly with Marshall Kendal, (M.A. kinesiology / teaching lab coordinator at Ottawa University), Mr. Kyle developed this Tap Dance Alliance and its associated syllabus with the aim of providing the most advanced, innovative and definitive tap syllabus available.

Awareness of the physicality of tap dancing lead Mr. Kyle to include the prevention and treatment of injury into the development of the BEAT syllabus. With it teachers will learn to recognize and deal with the injuries that can be involved in tap dance. This is a new and innovative approach to developing a syllabus as most current syllbi do not make this information readily available to teachers.
