Overview
The management structure of the Council is typical of a small organization, being sufficient only to ensure the continuation of the Council. Sponsors provide the bulk of financial support and the main activities are carried out by voluntary participants on the Executive Committee. The main criteria for Membership is a genuine interest or involvement in cryogenics or cryoengineering.
Membership
Anyone with an interest in cryogenics may apply for membership of the British Cryogenics Council and will be admitted as a member on payment of an annual subscription of £10.00 (£5.00 for students, the unemployed and persons retired from full-time work). The benefits of membership are a quarterly newsletter and access to the Discussion Forum on the website. The level of the annual subscription is reviewed at the Annual General Meeting.
Corporate Membership
Any company or organisation may apply to become a Corporate Member of the British Cryogenics Council. They can submit their company details online to the Council for approval. Acceptance by the Council is judged on the organisation supplying a product or service in the United Kingdom which is of benefit to the cryogenic community. Following approval and payment of an annual fee the details will be included in the database which can be searched by anyone accessing the website. The annual fee payable is linked to the number of people employed by the organisation and is reviewed at the Annual General Meeting.
