Captain of the Fury IV, Doug Johnson has been navigating the coastal waters of Vancouver Island for the past 40 years. Tour with him on a true westcoast experience.
The Gulf Islands and the waters surrounding them are rich with marine life. Since the late 1800's the leisure class have enjoyed the bounties of the region. Captain Johnson shares his knowledge of the islands by setting sail for special spots, you will only be able to visit by sea.
Doug Johnson began his career as a deck hand on a 55' fishing cruiser moored in Vancouver. Over the next twenty years he navigated the West Coast in a variety of 20 to 25 foot sloops. In 1974 Johnson and family built the sister ship to the Fury IV and sailed to the Queen Charlotte Islands, around the waters of Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands. During the 80's Johnson became Captain of a commercial fishing boat working from Vancouver north to Bella Bella.
