Bast Monitoring was named after the Egyption Lion-Goddess, Bast (later named Bastet and depicted as a cat-goddess). As Bast Monitoring protects your equipment and services, it seemed quite fitting to name it after Bast, who was originally the Goddess of Protection. Bast Monitoring was developed in 2009 and originally stemed from the desire to create a complete server monitoring package that would not suffer from the failings of existing monitoring solutions.
