DUE to adverse weather conditions the waste collection service for Barnsley has been suspended for the remainder of today (24 December).This morning (Thursday) staff have collected domestic waste bins from the majority of main roads, but many side roads and estates are unsafe for the 26-tonne wagons. Weather forecasts show conditions are unlikely to improve for the remainder of the day.The service will resume on Monday, 28 December and there will be extra crews working to clear the backlog.
