What is the Bank of Marin Foundation? The Bank of Marin Foundation is a public charity with nonprofit status, affiliated with the Marin Community Foundation. How does it work? Clients of the Bank of Marin Foundation can create and name their own individual donor-advised funds. They can add assets at their convenience, take charitable tax deductions in the year in which the gift to their fund is made, and recommend grants to qualified nonprofit groups or schools anywhere in the world. The grants can be made in the name of their personal Bank of Marin fund, or they can remain anonymous.
