Ballykilcavan has been home to the Walsh family since 1639, and has been actively farmed since at least that date. The current farm comprises a commercial tillage operation along with 180 hectares of mature and newly planted woodland. Ballykilcavan is also home to a herd of free-range rare-breed pigs. The tillage enterprise at Ballykilcavan consists of malting barley, feed oats, miscanthus and feed peas. We also grow high-quality fuel oats for sale to Irish fuel company, GrainEco.
