Just like the super sleuth Mr Sherlock Holmes (who coincidentally lived at 221b Baker Street) was in constant pursuit of his villains, at Baker Street Studios we are always on the look out for ways to improve what we do.
What is it that we do? Quite simply, we record live instruments and voice - all styles of acoustic music either in the studio or on location, as well as voiceovers for all sorts of applications.
How did the studio begin? Well, during February 1991 we opened a two-room facility (a control room and a recording room) called AJ Audio Art. It was constructed inside a warehouse in Burwood Victoria and was based around a Tascam MSR16 reel-to-reel recorder, a Tascam M3500 24 channel console, a brand new Neumann U87 mic (wow), and a handful of gear left from Al's live sound system.
