Description
Located 1.6 km (1 mi) southwest of Table Rock and 8 km (5 mi) southwest of Branson.
History
A proposal to change the name Baird Mountain to Straub Mountain was submitted in August 2002; the proposal was rejected by the USBGN on 20 October 2004, and was made in agreement with the findings and recommendations of the Missouri Board on Geographic Names, and in the belief that there was a lack of sufficient local support for changing a long-standing commemorative name.
