Jill Firth
Jill Firth has been involved with animals all her life - working with horses for over 20 years - and is trained to BHS Stage IV standard. Over the years, she has owned some 15 horses and ponies and competed on the County show circuit. See pictures of Jill's current horses. Through her "eye" for conformation and movement she has "discovered" many scruffy looking youngsters which, with her training and preparation, have gone on to be successful in many equestrian disciplines. Jill owned one of the top Large Show Hacks of the late 1980's, as well as many successful Show Ponies.
In addition, she has bred and shown Dalmatians, producing puppies which went on to stand in the top four at Crufts and has also trained dogs to advanced obedience level. She is a qualified lecturer in Animal Care, specialising in Training and Behaviour, Nutrition, Breeding and Equine Sports Science - the latter covering Exercise Physiology, Sports Injuries, Therapy and Rehabilitation.
Equine and Canine Therapy
Jill's qualification is the PostGraduate Diploma in Animal Manipulation awarded by the University of Wales in conjunction with the McTimoney College of Chiropractic. Over the 2-year course she studied such topics as: - Veterinary Anatomy and Physiology, Neurology, Osteology, Arthrology, Pathology, Lameness and Gait & Biomechanics as well as practical palpation and adjustment skills.
