Appointed by Governor Napolitano, Leesa Berens Morrison became the first female Director of the Department of Liquor Licenses and Control in January 2003.
Previously, Ms. Morrison served as an Assistant Attorney General where she spent 17 years practicing in the various areas of law including administrative, civil, environmental/general financial crimes. Prior to her service at the Attorney General's Office, she spent two years in private practice emphasizing in general civil litigation.
She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Public Policy/Government from Pomona College and a law degree from the University of Arizona where she was a member of the Law Review. She has served on the Board of Directors for the University of Arizona Law College since 1985.
