Texas attorney Stuart Kinard specializes in representing individuals accused of misdemeanor DWI , felony DWI and DWI-related charges of intoxication assault and intoxication manslaughter. Over a span of some 30 years, he has defended against more than a thousand DWI and DWI-related prosecutions throughout Texas.
Through the years, he has been invited to lecture to lawyers nationally on criminal defense strategies relating to jury selection, cross examination and jury argument. In recognition, he was one of the original twenty lawyers in the U.S. elected to the honorary position of permanent faculty member for the National College of Criminal Defense. For each of the past ten years, he has been selected by the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyer's Association to give the lecture and paper on defending DWI's at their annual advanced criminal law seminar.
In addition, he has, for the past four years, served as chairperson of the annual seminar entitled "Defending DWI Charges - Strategies of America's Best" and is editor of the related-annual publication, The DWI Trial - Strategies of America's Best.
He has served as adjunct professor at the University of Houston School of Law from 1972 to 1978, where he taught the senior level criminal defense strategies course.
