Description
The mission of the Austin Child Guidance Center is to improve the mental health of children through early intervention, diagnosis and treatment to help them develop the emotional skills for meeting life's challenges.
Our vision is to be Austin's premier source of information and treatment regarding children's mental health. According to the U. S. Surgeon General one in five children have a diagnosable mental illness and one in ten suffer an illness so severe it impairs their functioning. Unfortunately, it is estimated that 70% of children and adolescents do not receive needed mental health services.
