Aussie pubs came about out of sheer frustration. My wife (Michelle) and I (Greg/Brainy) sold our country pub and wanted to buy another, somewhere completely different.
However with the vast open spaces of Australia it was not as easy as jumping in a car and having a look at a pub, it could be a four day drive. In 1997 we travelled 1/2 way round Australia stopping at almost every pub and taking photos of the rest, we fell in love with the aussie pub. We knew there were so many great characters to meet.
