A typical Aussie in London (AIL), Simon is the 'mouth' behind the company. He has been in London for nearly 5 years. After spending 18 months working in pubs and restaurants he blagged his way into a 'real' job at a publishing firm selling advertising. After 18 months there he moved to an ad agency where he worked for a very brief and painful spell as a media planner. After this unpleasant experience he moved to British Telecom as a Commercial Manager in their Internet division. For the past 5 years he has lived here and helped out all of his mates when they first arrive in London. After becoming completely sick of repeating himself every few months to new arrivals, he decided to build a site that helped fellow Aussies. So as not to exclude other fellow southern hemisphere buddies, he has also decided to create similar sites for Kiwis and South Africans.
Nick joined the Welcome Stranger Team in May 2001 and took over the reigns as Technical Director. Nick is a pom but we don't hold that against him. He has advised with technical aspects ever since the company was formed. Nick is a Guru with all things technical and has helped develop this company into the success it is today. Personally, he drives the InLondon.combi van, loves VB and has a bad habbit of taking all his clothes off on a big night out.
Clive James was born in Sydney in 1939. He was educated at the University of Sydney and after graduating he worked for a time for the Sydney Morning Herald before departing for England in 1962.
