Athens Fence Co. was started in the spring of 1983 by James Dwight Gee, Mr. Gee had been building and selling fence in the Tennessee Valley area since 1973 and decided it was time for someone to start a fence company that would offer quality fencing at an affordable price, thus Athens Fence was started. At first Mr. Gee worked, as most small business owners do, out of his home.
