- Before the first ball was struck on the Asian PGA Tour, weeks, months and years of planning were involved. The one event, however, which stands out during the early days was the first meeting which took place between Ramlan Haron and Seamus O'Brien.
- The two met in October of 1993 in the Holiday Inn in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, to discuss the formation of the Asian PGA. So solid was their conviction that a newly-formed Asian PGA would succeed, and so fruitful were their discussions, that they signed and dated the napkin on which they had been scribbling their ideas.
