ASI owes her humble beginning to her founders, Peter and Yuxian Cai. In 1989 Peter and Yuxian started ASI in the garage of their own house. Prior to the founding of ASI, Peter and Yuxian each had already spent 25 years working for electrode manufacturing companies, learning and contributing to the progression of this industry. Yuxian was trained as a glass blower for various pH bulbs in China and has trained all glass blowers at ASI and Aurora.
