- It is first of all an Mpeg player for Windows® 95,98,ME, and XP operating systems. It uses the Microsoft Media Player decoder but otherwise bypasses and does not use this facility. It is actually more elaborate than the Media Player with a wealth of user options. It is available for free download as explained in the introductory screens. Its most important feature is the presentation of the words being sung on Mpeg or Wav files in very bold, time-cued, line-by-line pairs, commonly consisting of the original text of the language being sung and a translation of the text of the line at hand into the language of the listener. The idea is to enable the listener to not only know the meaning of the line at hand through a quick read of the translation but also to encourage a feel and understanding of the original language as its text is contemplated directly at the moment of presentation. Such a presentation is the best, and perhaps the only, way that the music and the immediate meaning of a language in which the listener is not adept can properly merge.
