Archbishop Chapelle High School was founded in 1962 by the Archdiocese of New Orleans and named after Archbishop Placide Louis Chapelle, the first Archbishop of New Orleans in the twentieth century.Archbishop Chapelle is one of only five schools in the country and the only high school in Louisiana to be named a Blue Ribbon School of Excellence by the U.S. Department of Education three times.
