Happy New Year! I hope you had a wonderful holiday season and the upcoming year brings you good health and prosperity. All of us at The Arvada Center are looking forward to the year 2006 with great anticipation because it marks our 30th anniversary. Our anniversary celebration kicks off with our June 9th Arvada Center Chorale concert and culminates with a Grand Open House celebration on November 5. Once the anniversary festivities schedule is set, you will be the first to know. Join us this year as we celebrate the Arvada Center’s 30 Sweet Years of success.
When an organization reaches such a critical milestone, it is useful to reflect on the past as a means of evaluating the present. The Center has evolved physically and philosophically. Some of our growth is more evident.We’ve continually expanded our services, programming and outreach. In 1976, we served 12,000 people. In 2004, we attained a recording breaking attendance of 343,998. On the less quantifiable factors of imagination, sophistication, and innovation, we have achieved comparable growth.
Some may be surprised by our growth because the Arvada Center isn’t large, overly controversial or downtown. Our progress and success is a result of our determination and dedication to promoting the arts, serving the community, and perfecting our art of entertaining, educating and enlightening.
