- Four years ago at an estate sale I purchased two never-used, still-in-their-packages cobbler aprons. I wore them for four years and became worried that I was using them too much and perhaps wearing them out, so I decided I wanted more of them. I designed a pattern, had some prototypes made, and decided to share my cobbler apron happiness with others. My sister thought of the name Aprons Americana and she also designed the logo. I started my small company in 2002.
