- Bill Mixon, the photographer for Apple Tree Studios, has had a lifelong passion for photography and the visual arts. He bought his first single-lens-reflex (SLR) 35mm camera at the age of twelve, from money earned mowing his neighbors' lawns. Today, a few upgrades later, the equipment's a little different but the enthusiasm's intact.
