- Our first business directory website, ( Crofton.com ), was launched April 1, 2002. The desperate need for a centralized location on the Internet for the businesses in the Crofton Maryland area was what led to the creation of the site. We believed that by placing all of the local businesses into one centralized location, we could bring tremendous value to the community and to the businesses themselves. It was important to us that we offer inexpensive advertising for the local businesses, provided small businesses with the opportunity to have a web presence, and to serve as a valuable source of information for the Crofton MD residents and visitors.
