Ancient Echoes was founded in 1987 by Ivy Hofstadter. She had a "traveling show" of unique jewelry and accessories. A year later she signed a lease and filled her gallery with artist inspired jewelry, decorative accessories and hand crafted furniture.

Ancient Echoes has been voted in the top 100 retailers of American Craft by Niche Magazine six years in a row and included in the "Ultimate Shopping Guide" by INSTYLE magazine. Ancient Echoes is located in Chicago's historic tree-lined Lincoln Park on Armitage Avenue. Nineteen cases of jewelry and decorative accessories are showcased in urban industrial vintage factory carts, making Ancient Echoes a distinctive gallery.
