Who would have thought, back in 1969, that the efforts of a small, fledgling travel company, whose only aim was to "promote exploration and enjoyment of mountain wilderness areas by active participation," would launch an entire industry? We never dreamed we were pioneers, never imagined our own passion for adventure would be so contagious. We named the company Mountain Travel, in honor of the high places of the world we so loved to explore.
