- The forum was established when representatives of more than eighty leading companies in the fields of communications & information technology met in Cairo on the 14th of January 2002. All participants shared a strong belief in the positive impact of communications & information technology on the Arab World’s development and economy. They highlighted decisions of the Arab League Summit held in Amman in March 2001 stressing the importance of enhancing the capabilities of the Arab World in the field of communications and information technology.
