AirArches Inflatable Tents and Buildings

Description

Excerpted from the website description:

Air Supported Structures are supported by air pressure. The basic concept is to use air pressure, air cells, or air beams to replace classic structural supports. The resulting structures are self-supporting without poles, beams, or interior load bearing walls.

==Additional Information==AIR SUPPORTED STRUCTURES AND TECHNOLOGY

Inflatable shelters use air to provide a quick, lightweight, and easily erected alternative to traditional metal frame or pole tents as well as conventional brick and mortar buildings. Construction of large shelters for aircraft hangers, storage and maintenance facilities, emergency and disaster relief, military command centers, hospitals, and decontamination facilities is a major concern for military and relief agencies deploying to bare-base locations around the world.

Air Supported Cable Structures are the simplest and most common is the type you may find covering a local soccer or recreational field. A large coated fabric skin is inflated with blowers like a balloon and will deflate and fall without constant internal positive air pressure. Economical to operate, insulated, efficient to heat utilizing solar energy.

Air Cell Structures use a series of inflatable arches to define the width and height of the structure. The basic air cell from which all pneumatic structures are formed is a fabric tube closed on both ends. When pressurized these tubes take on form, rigidity and strength.

Air Beam Structures use woven textile technologies developed by Federal Fabric Fibers, Inc. that are three dimensional. Seamless, continuous tubular laminates can be produced with braded layers which stretch when filled with air. The air beams form the framework of the tent which is then covered with an outer and/or inner fabric skin. After inflation, the air beams need no additional air supply.
