Adele began writing after being challenged by a college professor to take a risk and pursue her goals. It took a transformational trip to India, a bout with a contagious parasite, and an intensive writing workshop before she would even consider it. Six months later she packed it in and decided to pursue writing full-time. As her writing evolved, she discovered her real passion lay with journalism and reporting; particularly after conducting a number of interviews for a book.
