pulled from site's meta descriptionAnderson County EMS is comprised of eight professional EMS agencies providing service on a contractual basis for Anderson County as well as a paramedic level first response service operated by this agency. Advisory oversight is provided by the Anderson County EMS Advisory Commission whose members are appointed by the seven elected Anderson County Council members. Day to day contractual, clinical and operational administration, oversight and coordination are provided by the Anderson County EMS & Special Operations Director with the assistance of performance improvement paramedics and the Anderson County EMS Medical Control Physicians. We are also active in and provide emergency medical oversight for certain special teams including dive and marine rescue, hazardous materials, tactical emergency medical and technical rescue teams. Our division also maintains, trains and handles an explosives detection canine as well as two search and rescue canines. EMS & SO works hand-in-hand with all EMS, fire, and law enforcement agencies, as well as the Anderson County E-911 Central Dispatch Communications Center.
